Sacred Artwork
1,500+ original paintings from Srila Prabhupada's books
Srila Prabhupada personally supervised the creation of every painting in his books. He would describe the scenes in precise detail to his artist-disciples, reviewing their work and requesting corrections until each painting accurately depicted the spiritual subject matter. For Prabhupada, these illustrations were not mere decoration but an integral part of his books, serving as windows into the spiritual world.
These paintings bring the Vedic scriptures to life, depicting the pastimes of the Supreme Lord, the activities of great devotees, the structure of the universe, and the philosophy of the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam. Painted by dedicated devotee-artists at the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust, each work is a meditation in color and form.
This gallery preserves the original plates as they appeared in Srila Prabhupada's publications, scanned from first-edition volumes wherever possible.
